Antique Heart Pine

Antique Heart Pine Presentation

Antique Heart Pine is reclaimed virgin growth timber. From the time of the earliest settlers, these trees were harvested to create homes, factories, furniture and even ships. At one time, there were millions of acres throughout the Southeastern United States. Historical sites such as Colonial Williamsburg; Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson; Drayton Hall in South Carolina; and many others were built using Antique Heart Pine. The building boom of the industrial revolution resulted in nearly all of these trees being harvested prior to 1900. Structures built after that time generally were built using second growth timbers.

Old Original Antique Heart Pine

Our Antique Heart Pine has been salvaged from homes and buildings built prior to 1900. Our variety of sizes available in decking, posts and beams are commonly used for exposed beams, wall and ceiling paneling, trim, moldings, cabinet stock, stair parts and flooring. Our beams include rough sawn or hand hewn beams, and any of our Antique Heart Pine material can be milled into flooring, moldings, stair parts and paneling and just about anything else that you could imagine.

In addition to raw material, we also feature “Old Original” flooring. “Old Original” is walked-upon flooring with aged patina and worn marks from over one hundred years of use.

Strictly graded to ensure the highest quality available, our Antique Heart Pine product is separated into four unique grades:
Quarter Sawn
Plain Sawn
Character
Naily
